that aims to support people through emotional, psychological, and other challenging health experiences. Culture centered Psychotherapy is collaborative, person and culture centered and acknowledges structural and environmental issues that influence emotional and psychological health and wellness. Psychotherapy is offered to individuals and couples/relational structures. Psychotherapy can include support for the following:
Anxiety, fears and worries that are hard to manage
Childhood Traumatic Stress from migration and impacts of acculturation
Current life or work stressors
Depression that impacts desired functioning in life
Difficult relationship dynamics
Grief & Bereavement from loss of culture, land, language, family ties & relationships, or death.
Life & Career Exploration
Neurodivergence in Communities of Color
Stress from balancing work, life & family obligations
Trauma recovery from experiencing or witnessing familial harm, abuse, or neglect or from experiencing or witnessing community and state violence, including generational trauma.
Individual psychotherapy focuses on 1) strengthening and regaining intimacy, safety, joy, and pleasure, 2) enhancing communication skills, 3) exploring challenging experiences, thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and body sensations, and 4) learning emotional and relational wellness techniques and practicing recommendations in home setting.
Couples+ psychotherapy focuses on 1) strengthening and regaining intimacy, safety, joy, and pleasure between members of relational unit (i.e. couples+, family, friends, etc), 2) enhancing communication and conflict management skills, 3) exploring challenging experiences, thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and body sensations, and 4) learning emotional and relational wellness techniques and practicing recommendations in home setting. Couples+ includes traditional couples and polyamorous/CNM relationships.
(Coming soon) Psychotherapy groups include wellness, educational, and support groups ranging in topics from: Communication skills, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and Bilingual Bicultural First Generation College students, etc.
